Good Wishes

Good Wishes!

Christmas is upon us, and shortly after that will be 2013.  This message is simply to wish all our customers a very pleasant Christmas and an inspiring and prosperous New Year.

You see!  For once we are not selling our wares in our News Section, just offering Good Will!

It is, however, of interest (I’m sure!) that umpteen narrow-web printers and several supermarkets have responded to our launch of Thermosil.  When we get out our spread sheet and show the savings that can be made on the cost of making direct thermal labels, they agree that it’s a no-brainer!  That’s Good News!  And so to the New Year………………what will 2013 bring for you?  Can we offer you those cost savings on thermal labels?  Or can we offer you new and unique security features?  Or would you like to monitor a sterilization process, or an annealing process?  Or would you like to consecutively number at press speed?  It’s all Good News from Siltech!

We hope that you will be inspired to try something new in 2013, and that it improves your bottom line.  That’s Good Wishes!

Thermosil

Siltech offers a range of colour-change technologies including inks which change colour permanently when heated.  These come in several sensitivities and several different colours.  They are used extensively for indicating, marking, and monitoring.

 Good news for label makers!

We now proudly offer a range of inks for producing thermal labels which can save greatly on costs and introduce colour and flexibility. These are called

Thermosil inks

Thermosil inks are designed to be imaged by a standard direct-thermal printer, and will behave in the same way as thermally-sensitive paper, label stock, board, film, etc.  But they offer major advantages:

Thermosil is cheaper than direct-thermal substrate;

Thermosil is free of Bis-phenol A;

Thermosil is water resistant;

Thermosil is supplied in standard white to black, but is also available in other colours;

Thermosil is also available in coloured tints with a contrasting coloured image;

Thermosil use will lead to better quality labels as the “lift” of standard printing inks is better than on thermal paper;

Thermosil use will lead to improved cutter life.

 Many label makers report savings of over 30% by using Thermosil.  In times of recession, they are increasing their turnover at the same time as reducing costs.

Thermosil inks are easy to use.  When printing your labels, simply use a print station on your flexo or gravure press for the patch of Thermosil and print at normal speeds.  The patch is that part of the label where the variable information, (batch code, bar code, sell-by date, price, etc.) is to be placed, i.e. where the label is to be “overprinted”. It’s eco-friendly!

We will give you advice on Anilox, plate, drying, etc.  We will talk you through the finances and show you what savings can be made.

We will help you put thousands onto your bottom line.

High Growth Potential

Posted: 13/08/2012

 We said it before, last November, but it will bear repeating: we need a cash injection to get us into a higher growth gear.  We have proof that someone reads these news releases; following that paragraph on the WOW! factor of some of our products, we received a very interesting offer from a company in a related sector (print/packaging specialities).  However, the investment plan had to be aborted because of the jittery world financial situation, so we are still looking!

The on-going recession has had another effect: if has forced us to reconsider the emphasis placed on innovative and “nice-to-have” products compared with cost-cutting “need-to-have” products.  For example, if you are a label printer, then you will find our page “Thermally-sensitive Inks/Labels” very interesting.  And when you receive a cost-saving calculation from us, you are bound to respond: “WOW”!

Sterilization Inks/Monitors/Indicators

Posted: 21/12/2011

Look in the category "Sterilization Inks/Monitors/Indicators" and you will see that we cater for the three most popular medical sterilization techniques.  These are of course, Steam, Ethylene Oxide (EtO), and Gamma radiation.  Whilst steam is the most widely used technique to eliminate bacteria, of the three irradiation is the fastest growing, and, some believe, will grow even faster when food sterilization take off.  We are ready for it:  our Sterisure Gamma labels are selling well and we are getting good feedback from the market place.  But feedback from the market place also tells us that there is a new kid on the block.  Calls to local hospital decontamination units confirm that Vaporised H2O2/Plasma sterilization is getting popular. Indeed, we have been asked to offer an indicator "dot" (a 12.5mm diameter adhesive label), and this is what we have done.  We would particularly like to thank Kath Saxelby, Chesterfield Royal Infirmary, Kay Theaker and Angela McGarvey, Kings Mill Hospital, Jeff Newcombe, Derby Royal Hospital and Kay Page, Burton Queens Hospital, for their help and advice in this development. We will add this product to our portfolio when we next revamp the website.  In the meantime, call or email us if you are interested.

Siltech ends its silence

We've been asked why we are not producing more news releases!  The answer, simply, is that we are too busy; we do not have the staff to attend to such matters.  As you will see from this website, Siltech offers a wide range of products and, being a small start-up company, we have to deal with sales and web-site responses with just a handful of people.  Organic growth is painful and the banks aren't helpful; what we need is an equity investor who will put his money where his WOW! is.  And we get lots of WOW's; the WOW! factor is high for most of our products, but is enormous for some.

We would be happy to send information on our products so that you too can say WOW!
